National Quality Scores
Novant Health participates in national programs to measure our quality. One of the best ways to rate healthcare quality is through data collected by an independent source. We voluntarily participate in programs to measure our performance and compare with other hospitals throughout the nation.

As quality initiatives continue to evolve and standardize, we will continue taking steps to ensure that we participate in programs which bring the most important information to our community.

Medicare Hospital Quality Online Report
Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) publishes the results of several patient quality measures at hospitals across the U.S., including key areas in which Kernersville Medical Center, Forsyth Medical Center and Medical Park Hospital participate.

Quality healthcare is a high priority for the President, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and CMS. That’s why we post on our website, www.novanthealth.org/quality, comparisons of our nationally reported Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services quality indicators, along with 20 additional quality measures on which we voluntarily report, including:

  • -- MRSA and other infection prevention measures
  • -- Intensive care unit infection rates
  • -- Surgical infection rates for a variety of procedures
  • -- Patient safety index of serious safety events

We are committed to providing clear, accurate and honest information about the quality of care that we offer to our communities. We believe that transparency helps our patients and makes us more accountable to the people we serve.

North Carolina Center for Hospital Quality & Patient Safety
The North Carolina Center for Hospital Quality and Patient Safety (NC Quality Center) provides data about hospital quality, including measures for Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Pneumonia and Surgical Care sorted by region.
